SHARE Sonoma County was created to provide shared housing resources to Sonoma County residents over age 60. The program has been expanded to help victims of the fires no matter their age.
SHARE Sonoma County has partnered with Petaluma Peoples Services Center to provide housing to individuals and families displaced by the fires. They are seeking homeowners and renters with an extra bedroom, garage space, couch or second dwelling unit who'd be willing to offer short-term housing for our fire victims. Placements are not limited to Sonoma or Napa counties. The goal of the program is to get people into safe temporary or permanent housing.
PPSC is already staffed with volunteers and is actively taking calls from providers of housing and those seeking housing. Please contact SHAREFire@petalumapeople.org or call 707.765.8488 and ask for SHAREFire, ext. 126.
Donations should be made to Petaluma People Services Center, c/o SHAREFire at 1500A Petaluma Blvd. South, Petaluma, CA 94952 or online at the PPSC website.
Free Yoga and Tai Chi classes for evacuees and others displaced by the fires are being offered by the instructors at P.O.S.T. - Wellness by Design. See the page here for scheduled complementary classes.
